Care to Elaborate?

According to Wikipedia, a maven is a "trusted expert in a particular field, who seeks to pass knowledge on to others." A Yiddish word, maven, translated from meyvn "means one who understands, based on an accumulation of knowledge." Therefore, an information maven is essentially one who is an information expert...or in my book, a librarian. And any self-respecting librarian will tell you that Wikipedia is fine and dandy for background reading on a subject, but that it should never be used for research purposes.  That's what books and databases are for!
